Okinawa Goju Ryu Kenkyukai Newsletter

Well, I have finally gotten around to getting this newsletter set up. I've been talking about it for some time now and after constant prodding I thought it was time I got it done.

I would to use this newsletter (which will hopefully become a weekly thing) to keep everyone up dated on what is happening over here and throughout the organisation as a whole.

Now for some announcements:

Seminars

Seminars for next year are filling up quickly. For those people that are wanting to host a seminar please contact me as soon as possible so I can pencil in the dates and make sure that there are no clashes. I will be updating the site over the next few days with new information and planned seminar dates.

Okinawa 2013

We have started laying the groundwork for the Okinawa 2013 Seminar. The seminar will be the week of the October 14 ~ 19th. There will be 3 days  of seminars during the week. We are hoping to have the seminars at the Budokan but at that time of the year there are a lot of events and bookings can't be confirmed until a few months out. Rest assured though that we will have a place for the events.

Some of you have asked about a grading during the seminar. At this stage, there will be a grading. The structure and timing of this will be announced at a later date. Applcations for gradings will need to be made well in advance.

We are also planning a meeting of the dojo heads to discuss the organisation the the improvements needed to ensure that the path forward is clear. I will prepare an agenda of what we would like to discuss and send it out to dojo heads well in advance. That way you can add topics that you would like covered and we can have a short but effective and informed discussion on what needs to be done.

Queries?

Once again, Shibu and Jun Shibu heads, if you have any questions, concerns, seminar plans etc please contact me directly at glenn@gojuryukenkyukai.com. Members should direct any enquiries to Shibu or Jun Shibu dojo heads in their area.

The New Zealand seminar is fast approaching. Once Taira san returns from that, I plan to equip him with a computer, email address, and a working knowledge of Google translate.

That's about it for announcements for now. Sorry for the long winded first newsletter.

Cheers
Glenn
